Photograph a wedding in another country. Oh hey, I was just crossing something off of my bucket list! I had the pleasure of joining Amy and Craig (and their lovely families!) in the Dominican Republic for a fun wedding celebration. When Amy emailed me months ago, offering to fly me to Punta Cana to photograph her wedding day, I WAS SO EXCITED. A weekend spent at a beautiful resort? Count me in!
The bride’s sister and maid of honor, Kelly, has been my friend for years, and it was so much fun to catch up with the whole family in paradise! Amy and Craig are both such gracious, welcoming people, who truly love each other to the fullest. It’s so refreshing to see two people whose love for each other outweighs everything else.
I couldn’t believe how laid back Amy was throughout the entire weekend. Unfortunately, torrential rain caused the wedding day plans to change, but the bride and groom didn’t seem to mind– they were going to be MARRIED and that’s all that mattered! Thankfully, we were all able to regroup and meet on the beach the next morning for a few portraits. I’m so glad, because Punta Cana’s clear, blue water is the perfect backdrop for beach photos.
Mr. and Mrs. Buchanan, thank you so much for including me in your destination wedding weekend! I had an absolute blast, and I’ll never forget it. I hope you treasure these photos for years to come. Here is a sneak peek of some of my favorite details!
