About Paige

1. I love when couples suggest a location(s) that is sentimental to them. Choose a setting that has meaning for you! Of course, if you can’t think of a specific place where you would like to shoot, I will always suggest ideas to help you decide.

Like your family’s backyard where you’ve spent summer nights…
Or those familiar city streets you’ve strolled by dozens of times…

Maybe it’s the park where you walk your dog every morning…

Or maybe it’s the place where you had your first date…

Or the city where you fell in love…
2. When it comes to outfits, don’t try to match. Choose colors and patterns that compliment each other. This is important! Also, avoid busy or distracting prints. If a bride-to-be asks me what she and her guy should wear, I always recommend neutral colors and statement accessories. Don’t be afraid to wear a pretty scarf, bold necklace or fun shoes. Those kinds of details will make your images pop without overwhelming the subjects — you!

Warm, fall layers can make the shoot feel so cozy…

Or if it’s summertime, opt for a sundress like Janelle’s…

Because Andrew wore bold plaid, Jennifer’s neutral dress was the perfect accent…

A bold color can be the perfect way to add visual interest…

Wear what makes you comfortable and feel beautiful…
3. If possible, clean your ring beforehand! I always grab a few ring shots, and they are up-close and personal. Every scratch or smudge of dirt will definitely show. Your fiancé splurged on a ring with beautiful detail, so you’ll want to show off that diamond!

4. Most couples like to have one casual, everyday outfit and a more formal, dressy change of clothes. I recommend beginning with the dressy outfit first. This will give your shoot two different “looks” and will provide you with more variety in your images!

Loved Katie and Zach’s pastel color palette…

A casual day in Florida, ready for a picnic…

Maddy’s layered pearls were beautiful, just like her…

Oh, all the soft springtime colors…

And if it’s freezing, layer on some cute coats like these two…

5. Your engagement session is meant to be FUN and relaxed. I’m laid back and want the best experience possible for you — from the first time we meet to your I Dos. If your groom-to-be is nervous about having his picture taken (most guys are hesitant at first), show him some of your favorite photos I’ve taken. That way, he’ll have an idea of what to expect. Relax, make a date out of it, and enjoy the time we’ll spend together!
